Council is responsible for the management of freshwater within its area. Measuring river flow and rainfall is how we learn how much water is available.

As Nelson City comprises only a small part of the wider Tasman Bay area, it makes sense that Nelson City Council river and rainfall data is presented alongside Tasman District Council.
